Jesus Was A Hipster

This Jesus was a hipster t-shirt is meant to be a fun take on the old JC. But there is some biblical support for a hipster Jesus. After all, a hipster is someone who rejects the mainstream culture. We certainly think Jesus did that. And hipsters value independent thinking and progressive politics. It is hard to read the Gospels and not see Jesus as an independent thinker who supports the interests of ordinary people. Hipsters are open-minded, and Jesus, for his part, takes this one step further, opening the minds of the people he encounters. 

So, we think it is pretty clear that, indeed, Jesus was a hipster. But if you still have any doubts, we have a couple more reasons that Jesus was a hipster:

• Jesus wore some serious vintage cloths: robes and sandals.
• He had an androgynous, shaggy hair style.
• The dude could have toured the world, but he only performed at small Middle-Eastern venues.
• Jesus was thirty years old, celibate, and still living with his mom.
• He had an epic beard.
• Jesus walked everywhere, even before there was an environmental crisis.
• The dude never tried to be liked, but people everywhere worship him.
• Jesus never buys anything (even at thrift stores). Instead, he just relies on the generosity of strangers.
• The dude changed water into wine. Enough said.
